Saturday November 30th saw the 2nd round of the revolution series to come to my hometown of Glasgow. We were lucky enough to be invited along by Evans Cycles to watch the evenings racing and to have a good look at the new HOY bikes range. Which luckily enough for me meant I got to share 45 minutes on track with Sir Chris himself in order to have a closer look at the Fiorenzuola track bike in action.
Click Read more for the full report of the evening and initial thoughts on the range.
Many thanks to Sir Chris and Evans Cycles for the invite and to Stephen Hughes for the captures.
Deux North have expanded their range including my favourite, the new Defeet gloves with touch screen friendly fingers meaning you have no excuse not to go hunting this holiday season.
My inability to pin a number and the impact it has on my kit has led me to believe that Race Dots could be the greatest invention ever;
Keeping the fun in cycling.
“Every sport needs a maverick. Furious Cycling follows one man and his quest to take road biking in a new direction. He shuns the mountain passes of the Lake District, and even traditional lycra, in exchange for a very different type of road challenge. We find out how his DIY training methods and gear fare against a notorious Cumbrian safety camera, and why he’s so angry.”
For those that live in a bubble and are not aware, SPIN x LCF is this weekend and Ragpicker will there displaying their new collection, plus launching and selling The 5th Floor Cap. Make sure you grab yours. Ragpicker will also be displaying a few of our own products. Get your free tickets here or pay £5 on the day.
One of the draw backs of cross racing is that it requires a vehicle to get you there. This can prove prohibitive and selective in who actually makes it to races. The NYC community tends to rally round and lifts and car pooling is pretty effective.
Thule have been in awesome in outfitting 5th NYC with their rack systems ensuring we can get the full team with 5 bikes to the races. The rack system is super secure during transit and when were in parc ferme with its locking system. We’re using the 526 circuit model, specs here.
Thanks to Angelo for the photos and Chris for ferrying us around the east coast this season.
