“This is an ultra rare titanium bottom bracket from the mid to late 90′s from small boutique CNC parts builder Bruce Boone … the centre section of the spindle was cut in a twisty corkscrew like fashion, which made for an unimaginably stiff and strong bottom bracket while retaining low weight. It features lockrings for both the drive side and non drive side, which is great for chainline adjustability.”

Finally it’s feeling like summer, and finally it looks like i’m getting to pack my winter wear away. As Phil said, he feels like he’s been racing cross season since last August due to the on-going cold whether we’ve had.
Face value reviews are easy to dish out, but when it comes to winter gear what really matters is how the kit deals with the daily rigours over the harshest months. Over the winter season I’ve been testing out the Torm T5 Jersey and the Raincoat, Merino base and Thermal bibs from the lovely folks at SOLO.

Recent addition to The 5th Floor NYC and fellow Ride Brooklyn team mate, Nik Koblov has been working with Ian at Icarus on a custom track frame. Ian shot over some initial pictures of the frame post paint and detailing and it’s looking incredible, resplendent in full FIFTH inspired colourway. Needless to say there will be a full bike check here when it’s built. Until now here’s a taster…
