Re-Cycled Bike Furniture
Posted in: Art
Matt Shirley creates these crazy pieces of furniture from discarded bike parts. I like the coat rack, but at $2800 it’s slightly out of my price range.

Old School.
Posted in: Photography, Racing
I was fortunate to learn more of the history of my bike from someone who knew the frame builder well, see the original post and comments here. I’ve finished rebuilding the Aende and am eventually satisfied with it, detailed pics to follow. When researching some of the old school Paramount and Aende riders suggested by Brian i stumbled on some great old shots, not all are of Aende riders but i think they are quality.
Reg Harris. He won the world amateur sprint title in 1947, two Olympic silver medals in 1948, and the professional title in 1949, 1950, 1951 and 1954. He also surprised many with a comeback more than 20 years later, winning a British title in 1974 at the age of 54.
The Late Noel Lilley in action on his Aende framed bike ( One of the first riders to do a 19 minute 10 ), and British Olympic pursuit rider.

Random Video Catchup.
Posted in: Non-fixed, Videos
Total re-posts and a little after the jump but nevertheless…
First up is this trailer from Dartmoor bikes, these guys seem to be following in the steps of NS Bikes, hailing from Poland with some of the best kit and best riding, can’t wait for the full edit.
The next, snatched from 14 Bike Co, is included just because of the Braveheart references, though its a shame the dude had to read the speech from a bit of paper, and someone needs to wikipedia caber tossing.

Normal service has resumed now that the holidays are over. We can’t wait for 2011 after having great times throughout 2010, it was awesome to have this recognised in Prolly’s top ten of 2010, a real honour and great to be up beside some real worth blogs that have prospered this year. 2011 is going to be even bigger for fixed!
More good news from Prolly is that the Mishka / New Era cap is finally out for delivery, can’t wait to receive mine!

The Grime & Sadio
Posted in: Product, Tricks
So in the FGFS world there has been a lot of talk of 14mm axles and peg friendly hubs.
The Grime boys have been talking about it for a very long time and The Grime Thread over at Trick Track has been filled with people asking when the much talked about Sadio Hubs will drop.
And after a long wait, here they are.
These things look legit. They look like they can take a beating, and to prove that…The Grimes all ride on them.
They come with the standard 10mm axle but you can buy a 14mm convertor.
Along with the hubs being dropped today, Sadio came out with their Lockring and cogs as well.
Get any of the products above from The Grime Bigcartel.
