We all know Toms is the master of the mini-drome, so here’s your opportunity to take him on literally in his own back yard.

Toms Alsbergs, the winner of Red Bull Mini Drome in London and the world record holder invites to his hometown to a totally new fixed gear bike contest Red Bull Tru Fix.
The event will take place on the 26th of May in Riga, the capital of Latvia. Special 1 km long track will be built in Kronvalda park with sharp corners, “traffic jam”, kickers, camels, wet corner and more.
Registration is open for all fixed gear riders all over the world in redbull.lv.

I first became made aware of Creux at Bespoked Bristol, Dene from il Soigneur was excited to tell me that they would be the UK stockists of the Aussie born brand. I was blown away by the attention to detail in the rider orientated casual wear. From the unseen choice of materials, cut and fit through to little touches subtle and thoughtful enough to give off that high-end vibe. I’m currently testing out one of their tees and will feedback asap, I persoanlly can’t wait until the shipment of Japanese Denim shorts drop, hopefully it will be timed with the glimmer of summer we might get here. More soon, but for now il Soigneur and Creux.

I’ve been using Nuun extensively though recent months. I was really drawn to them due to the fact that it delivers sports enhancing hydration without the sugar which when you’re consuming the amount fluids we do during training leads to a scary amount of grams ingested aswell as producing false sugar highs. The steady delivery of hydration and elctrolytes is really noticable and there is no danger of the syrupy mouth from shots or pre-bottled drinks.

Nuun are well established with a ten year history however I think they have a really fresh approach. The branding itself is much more tasteful that the bold POWER emphasising packaging found on other sports drinks which all adds to the comforting natural feeling from Nuun. The range of flavours is incredible, we’ve been trying out the 5 new flavours with everything from Lemon ice Tea to Strawberry Lemonade. Again the flavours make me feel I can choose a drink that I will enjoy the taste of as well as the benfits rather than drinking some chemical flavoured concotion for needs must.

The tablets make them really portable, I found that 1 tablet was enough in my 750ml bottle but some of the guys have preferred 2. Either way they work out much more cost effective and transportable than alternatives. I know that at least Condor stock these in London but check out the Nuun site for more info.

We’ve been wearing these Endura overshoes non-stop over the unusually long rainy season with April showers being more like April downpours these have been called into action more than we’ve wanted! The good news is that they perform excellently, the neoprene is so thick that it keeps you warm and dry yet is tough so no clips or boa wheels have punctured or worn the surface. The fixings are also strong enough to allow you to get the cuff tight around your leg. We would definately reccomend these.

Looking and reading Erik’s post and photos made me notice how tight the clearance was in the hairpin curve, see it hi res here. You don’t have a clue how close your pedals are to the ground when riding it, so glad no crash happened at that hairpin.
